75 Teams to Compete in Falls Township's 'Que for the Troops'
The seventh annual BBQ competition benefits Liberty USO.

The addition of 50 percent more bar-b-q teams vying to be champions in their respective categories ensures that the seventh annual Que for the Troops and Family Festival will be the best yet.
Held June 3 and June 4 at Falls Township Community Park in Levittown, the field of 75 teams – up from 50 in 2015 - will compete in the Kansas City Barbecue Society sanctioned event. Cash prizes totaling more than $12,000 will be awarded for the best Chicken, Pork, Pork Ribs and Brisket, according to organizer Jeffry Dence, Falls Township Supervisor Vice Chairman. Contenders can also compete in the Anything Butt and Dessert competitions.
Since its inception in 2010, Que for the Troops has raised more than $65,000 for Liberty USO, the nonprofit organization supporting active duty, National Guard and reserve military personnel and their families in Pennsylvania and South Jersey. More than $15,000 of the total funds were raised in 2015 alone.

“We hope to far surpass last year’s success,” Dence said. “It’s hard to believe that what began as a backyard contest with 11 teams competing for bragging rights has evolved into 75 teams and $12,000 in prize money.”
In addition to the bar-b-que competition, the two-day event features a chicken wing eating contest, mechanical bull, plenty of food vendors, a car show, live music, fireworks and various kids’ activities, including inflatable rides and face painting.
