LANGHORNE, PA — The Neshaminy School District is postponing Wednesday night's graduation ceremony due to inclement weather.

"After careful review of the latest weather forecasts and extensive consultation with an AccuWeather meteorologist, Bucks County school administrators, our Middletown Township Police Department partners, and the District and school administration, we have decided to reschedule Neshaminy High School's graduation ceremony," school officials said in a statement.

With the forecast calling for more storms on Thursday, school officials are moving the ceremony to 11 a.m. on Saturday.

"This decision was not made lightly," school officials said. "Our primary goal has always been to provide our graduates and their families with the memorable outdoor graduation experience they have anticipated and deserve."

School officials said the forecast for Wednesday night and the rest of the week includes the potential for severe thunderstorms, including lightning that would require stadium evacuation, and dangerous heat conditions, with a Heat Advisory in effect.

"Based on the latest information available, we believe rescheduling the ceremony is the best decision for the health, safety, and well-being of our graduates, families, staff, and guests," school officials said.

By moving the ceremony to Saturday morning, school officials said they are maximizing the opportunity to hold graduation outdoors while providing a safer and more enjoyable experience for our entire school community.

"We know this change may require adjustments to your plans, and we appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we prioritize the safety of all attendees," school officials said.

Additional details regarding Saturday's ceremony will be communicated as soon as possible.
