Opposition Mounts Over Data Center In Lower Bucks Co.

Falls Township Supervisors witnessed a standing-room only crowd on Monday to protest the planned Amazon data center under construction

FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA — A standing-room-only crowd gathered at Monday’s Falls Township Supervisors’ meeting to protest the Amazon data center under construction at the Keystone Trade Center.

Plans to construct the data center were finalized at a supervisors meeting last March 2025, and construction is nearing completion.

Yet, several residents who spoke asked the Falls Supervisors to pause construction and enact a moratorium on data centers.

And now a Town Hall meeting is scheduled on July 14 at Pennsbury High School East that will feature PECO, the DEP, and Amazon.

A petition opposing the data center began to circulate in May and now has signatures from 3,800 people, speakers told the board.

Several who spoke relayed fears over skyrocketing water and electric rates given the surge in utilities stemming from the data center, while others voiced concerns over purported environmental impacts.

Officials hope to allay fears and provide answers to these, and other questions related to the planned data center during the Town Hall meeting at the high school at 705 Hood Boulevard in Fairless Hills.

The town hall meeting will feature presentations from PECO, Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, and Amazon, followed by questions.

The meeting will be held from 6-8 p.m.
