FAIRLESS HILLS, PA — Construction of the new Pennsbury High School is now officially underway.
Pennsbury school officials said work has begun on the new $269.5 million high school that will replace the current East and West high school campuses.
"We're to begin sharing weekly progress videos so our community can follow along as our new high school takes shape," school officials said.
This week, construction crews are compacting the soil to prepare the foundation beneath the future Auditorium and Music areas.
Crews are also excavating the stormwater drainage basin near the corner of Hood Boulevard and Queen Anne.
"Every step brings us closer to a state-of-the-art learning environment for generations of Pennsbury students," school officials said.
So far, the project remains on schedule for a September 2029 opening.
