FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA — The Falls Township Police Department is seeking a man who bilked residents out of thousands of dollars in a home improvement fraud scheme.
Falls Township Police issued a warrant for the whereabouts of Jason Ball, 47, of Bristol Township, who is accused of taking thousands of dollars for home improvement work that was never finished.
Police on Friday charged Ball with home improvement fraud and theft by deception.
The investigation began earlier in September after residents reported they hired Ball to replace a stone wall lining the sidewalk and driveway of their home.
The homeowners had posted an inquiry on the Nextdoor app seeking a contractor, and Ball responded by offering to complete the project, police said.
The agreement called for the work to begin July 6 and conclude by July 10, police said in a criminal complaint obtained by Patch.
The complaint states that residents paid Ball half of the agreed-upon cost up front and provided the remaining balance after the work started.
Police said Ball allegedly abandoned the project midway through and received a total of $5,800 for the uncompleted work.
