MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Middletown Township Police Department has taken a 14-year-old boy into custody in connection with the reported threat involving the Maple Point Middle School on Thursday.
Police officers conducted an investigation that led to the person being identified and taken into custody.
Patch has reached out to police for more information about the juvenile. Lt. Stephen E. Forman said the boy was from Bristol Township and was not a Neshaminy School District student.
Neshaminy Schools Superintendent Jason Bowman said that all schools — including Core Creek Elementary School and Maple Point Middle School, which were closed Thursday from the threat — will operate on their regular schedules on Friday.
Bowman said there is no ongoing threat.
He said that because the incident involves juveniles, no additional details will be provided.
Police said they are continuing to work closely with the Bucks County District Attorney's Office and Bucks County Juvenile Probation.
Police said school resource officers and worked from the moment the Safe2Say Something tip was received until the juvenile was safely taken into custody.
