LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — An Uber driver has been charged with indecent assault and harassment in an incident in which authorities said he sexually assaulted a female passenger after giving her a ride, court records state.
Wael Hagag of Bristol Borough was arraigned on Wednesday as a police investigation continues into the April incident, a criminal complaint states.
The victim and then-fiancé called for an Uber after a night out in Bristol Borough. After arriving at their destination on Mill Street, the fiancé briefly stepped away, leaving the woman alone. Police allege the assault occurred during that time, according to the criminal complaint.
Hagag exited the vehicle, approached the woman from behind and placed his hands up and underneath her dress/shirt area, "touching intimate areas of her body" without consent, the complaint obtained from the Bucks County District Attorney's Office reads.
The complaint states that when the victim called for help, Hagag ran back to his vehicle and drove away.
