BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, PA — Bristol Township will hold a meeting Thursday night to discuss Earned Income Tax changes for 2027.
Township officials said the meeting will include a presentation on the proposed EIT changes, including the steps being taken to minimize the financial impact on residents.
The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Bristol Township Auditorium on Bath Road.
The township's current EIT is 0.5 percent while most municipalities are taxing residents at 1 percent.
An EIT is a tax on earned income on wages, salaries, bonuses, and tips. An EIT does not apply to Social Security, pensions, or retirement benefits.
Township officials said they are exploring a millage decrease for residents who work in Bristol Borough.
Officials said that decrease could lower property taxes and help offset the 0.5 percent increase as well as an EIT waiver for income-eligible residents who make less than a determined amount.
