Bicyclist, Motorcyclist Injured In Serious Falls Crash

The woman on the bicycle was trying to cross New Falls Road when she was hit by the motorcycle, police say.

FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA — Two people were injured, one of them critically, when a motorcycle crashed into a woman on a bicycle Wednesday in Falls Township.

According to Falls police, the crash happened at 6:15 p.m. in the area of Spirit Financial Credit Union, at 8535 New Falls Rd.

Police say a woman was traveling westbound on the right hand shoulder on a bicycle when she began to cross over New Falls Road. When she did, she was hit by the motorcycle, which was traveling in the westbound lane.

According to police spokesman Lt. Nelson Whitney, the woman on the bicycle was flown to Thomas Jefferson Trauma Center in Philadelphia to be treated for critical injuries. The motorcyclist remained at St. Mary Hospital, where he was being treated for his injuries, on Thursday.

Police on Thursday had not publicly identified the people involved in the crash.
