Block Scheduling Considered For Neshaminy High School
Meetings will continue with a consultant in November. The schedule change may go into effect for the 2025-2026 school year if approved.

LANGHORNE, PA —The Neshaminy School District has formed a committee that's reviewing block scheduling for its high school.
A group of Neshaminy High School administrators, teachers, and district administrators met in mid-September at Maple Point for the first of several meetings planned over the next several months to consider a block scheduling plan for the high school, school officials said.
A block schedule is a method that would replace the current daily schedule of eight periods of about 45 minutes each with longer class periods that meet fewer times each day and week.

School officials said there are several ways a block schedule could be implemented, which is part of the consideration.
At the meeting, educational consultant Michael Rettig presented information about block scheduling models along with various pros and cons of this method.

The group will meet again in November.
Should the group decide to proceed with a block scheduling proposal, it would be presented to the Neshaminy School Board for its consideration later this school year.
If the board decides to move forward with block scheduling at that time, it would not be implemented until the 2025-2026 school year at the earliest, school officials said.
