BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, PA —A township-based brewing company has announced plans to expand in Bucks County by opening a new taproom by the end of the year.

Second Sin Brewing Company said in a Facebook post that it will open its new taproom at 17 N. State St. in Newtown Borough.

"We haven't kept it much of a secret over the last couple of years that we've been on the lookout for a second taproom location," the brewery said. "Through many fits and starts in several different areas, we're very excited to finally announce that we found our spot."

The brewery owners said it took some time for the business to find a second place that fit their needs. The future taproom is located next to the Newtown Borough Hall inside the former location of Rittenhouse Home.

"We think this spot will be a great addition to the Bucks County beer scene —an inviting space to come and enjoy a pint of Second Sin beer," the brewery said.⠀

The brewery, founded by Mike Beresky, Phil Harris, and Jake Howell, opened in 2011 as Second Sin Brewing Company at 1500 Grundy Lane in Bristol Township after Broken Goblet relocated its taproom to Bensalem. Since opening it has built a reputation and a following on its craft beer and its food.

“It almost goes without saying that we couldn't have done this without the undying support of the people that love our beer,” the owners said. “Fret not, our taproom and brewery in Bristol will remain open. This will be a chance for us to get our product in front of a lot of new people, and expand the Second Sin family.”
