Burlington-Bristol Bridge Closing For Several Nights

Officials said the bridge connecting Bucks County and New Jersey will be closed overnight starting Friday through Tuesday.

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Burlington-Bristol Bridge connecting Bucks County with New Jersey will be closed overnight for the next few days, officials said.

State Rep. Tina Davis said the two-lane bridge over the Delaware River will be closed to all vehicle traffic from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. overnight on Friday, Monday, and Tuesday for repair work.

The bridge in Bristol Township was first opened to traffic on May 2, 1931.

The bridge has a total length of 2,301 feet and is operated by the Burlington County Bridge Commission. The lift span is 540 feet long.

The bridge was named in a New York Times study of federal data and shipping traffic in the wake of the Baltimore bridge collapse, finding dozens of vulnerable bridges spanning waterways that serve as corridors for large vessels around places like Philadelphia, Boston, and New Orleans.
