Construction Manager Hired For Pennsbury High School Project
The Pennsbury School Board has hired a firm to oversee the construction of its new high school set to open in 2029.
FAIRLESS HILLS, PA —After holding a special meeting to interview potential firms to oversee the construction of its new high school, the Pennsbury School District has settled on a candidate.
The school board approved the hiring of SitelogIQ at its meeting last month following a May 8 meeting in which numerous firms made presentations on how they would oversee the new high school, which is expected to open in the winter of 2029.
Three firms made presentations to the school board. But the construction management firm SitelogIQ was awarded a $2.95 million contract in a 7-1 board vote.

During their interview with the school board, Rose Feder, from Site Logic, emphasized the importance of "clear, concise, and complete documentation in delivering exceptional construction projects."
She highlighted the firm's rigorous review process, involving mechanical and electrical engineers, and experienced team members to ensure accountability from the design team.

Feder asserted that the approach would contribute to the project coming in on budget with minimal issues and fewer change orders. The board members asked a few questions, including one about the inclusion of furniture and electronics in the budget, before allowing Feder to introduce her team.
For cost concerns, Site Logic performs regular estimates based on the phase of design and identifies areas for cost savings. They also identify scope creep and work with the architect and school district to implement cost-reducing measures. The team intends to keep the board informed through monthly written reports, briefings, and separate meetings with consultants and the owner.
That firm was favored over D’Huy Engineering, which has a track record of ongoing school renovation projects, including the recent work at Charles Boehm Middle School and the Pennwood Middle School project.
Other firms that were interviewed included Dewey Engineering, and Walt and Casey Construction.
The hiring comes after the school board selected KCBA Architects of Hatfield, Montgomery County, in April to design the new Pennsbury High School.
The Pennsbury School Board voted 8-1 to build a new high school over renovating its West campus last year.
The vote authorized the school district to hire an architect and get the building going on a school that would open for the 2029 school year and may cost between $250 million and $277 million.
