Dave Portnoy Samples Several Bucks Co. Pizza Places: See The Scores

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Barstool Sports Founder David Portnoy is certainly no one trick pizza pony.

After arriving at one Lower Bucks County pizza place last Friday, the self-described pizza lover hit a few more spots in the area.

On Friday, following some recommendations, Portnoy showed up at Abruzzi Ristorante at 1259 Wood Lane in Langhorne.

"El Presidente" tried the Chambersburg, and was graciously patient enough to wait for a second pie, which was a Thin Burg, its owners said in a Facebook post. He also gave an "amazing score." of 8.1.

Since Portnoy only samples a slice, he decided to hit up several other pizza places nearby after asking people for suggestions.

Portnoy made stops at Mama Russo's Pizzeria in Trevose and La Villa Pizza in Morrisville.

Wearing a Boston Red Sox baseball cap and a hoodie, Portnoy marveled at the "very light" pizza, comparing it to maybe something like Detroit pizza and Trenton-style tomato pie. He gave it a 7.8 rating.

"From humble beginnings to having Dave Portnoy stop by to try our Trenton style tomato pie — a moment we’re proud to celebrate,"La Villa Pizza said in a Facebook post.

He also stopped at Mama Russo's on Philadelphia Avenue in Trevose, posing for a picture with its owners and even wearing their Halloween “Gaba‑Ghoul” shirt.

"What an honor to have the man himself," the pizza place posted. Portnoy did not provide a rating yet.

The self-described pizza lover appeared at Pizza Di Vita on 110 Lincoln Highway in Fairless Hills in mid-August to sample a slice as part of his "One Bite" internet pizza critic role.

In December 2023, Portnoy visited HG Bucks Bagels at 1179 York Road in Warminster. He has also visited Lucatelli's Pizzeria in Doylestown.
