Dog, 2 Cats Dead In Falls Township Fire, Home Destroyed

A fire ripped through a Woodside Drive home early Wednesday morning, the Falls Township fire marshal said.

FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA —A house fire early Wednesday morning killed a dog and two cats at Pennwood Crossing, fire officials said.

The Falls Township Fire Marshal said that Levittown #1 Fire Company was dispatched to the Woodside Drive section of Pennwood Crossing at 3:32 a.m. Wednesday for a reported house fire.

Upon arrival, crews were met with heavy fire throughout the home, but the occupant had escaped safely.

A dog and 2 cats perished in the fire, but there were no reported injuries to the homeowner or firefighters, fire officials said.

The home was destroyed in the fire.

The fire is under investigation by the fire marshal but appears to be an accidental fire due to careless smoking outside the home.

Fire companies from Fairless Hills, Falls Township, Tullytown, and Morrisville assisted in battling the blaze.
