Dog Park Approved In Lower Makefield

A dog park has been approved in Lower Makefield Township .Nonresident memberships will be sold, according to reports.

A dog park is coming to nearby Lower Makefield Township.

According to multiple reports, the Lower Makefield supervisors on Wednesday approved the creation of a 2.5-acre dog park off Heacock Road near the Makefield Glen development.

The dog park is 17 years in the making and nine sites were considered by the township before settling on the Heacock Road location, according to BucksLocalNews.com.

The $150,000 park will be created using grant money and donations raised by the Lower Makefield Township Community Foundation, The Courier Times reported.

When complete, it will feature an area for large dogs and another for small dogs.

A membership to the park will be required. A suggested annual fee provided during Wednesday's meeting is $35 for residents and $60 a year for nonresidents, BucksLocalNews.com reported.
