What are the top issues currently facing your district and how do you plan to address them?
1. The rising costs of food, utilities, gas, and housing are currently the biggest issues in my district. I was happy to support a budget that include tax credits for childcare, extra payments back to the resident through the tax rent rebate programs, and an abundance of funds in the LIHEAP program which will help with high cost of heating fuel this winter.
2. I was able to secure $2 million along with Sen. Tomlinson for the victims of the flooding last year. Also, the budget included additional funds for future flooding events.
3. I almost lost my home in 2009, and had to take three part-time jobs to keep my family afloat. I understand how it is to be devastated financially, and have empathy for those facing the same troubles.
