Candidate Questions
1. What is your stance on data centers in your district?
I have supported a variety of bills in the House to give local government more control over where these large-scale operations are built, requirements that they generate their own power, address environmental concerns, and more. I also voted to support the Governor’s GRID plan this past summer.
I’m not aware of any proposed large-scale data center project, but like any local issue, I believe it is up to that community to ultimately make the decision that is best for themselves.
2. What is the best plan for development in your district?
Local governments need to work closely with their residents to ensure that any development project meets the unique character of the community, and any externalities are minimalized.
Lower Bucks County has seen significant development over the last 30 years and we are really beginning to see the stress on our local infrastructure. While some sites need to be revitalized to promote economic development and address blight, it needs to be done in a comprehensive manner with significant resident feedback.
3. What are some of the top issues in your district?
Affordability is the No. 1 issue I’m hearing at the doors and when I speak to residents. The price of everyday goods, property taxes, homes, and more has continuously gone up. I’ve introduced and supported a variety of bills to expand property tax relief for seniors, rebates for utility bills, a holiday on the gas and gross receipts tax and more. I have worked with both parties to cut taxes, pass record funding for local public schools, and take on big utilities to stop rate hikes and extremists to stop energy taxes.
