Volunteers Needed: Plant Trees to Promote Clean Water at Silver Lake County Park

Help plant 100 native saplings and shrubs along 200 ft of the shoreline of Magnolia Lake, in Silver Lake County Park. Native plants improve the quality of our lakes and streams by protecting against property damage and water quality impacts from shoreline erosion, filtering excess nutrients and pollutants from storm runoff, and providing important habitat for wildlife.

We need your help to restore the lake’s shoreline - which drains directly to Silver Lake. We know you love Silver Lake Park. Help us make it even better!

Volunteers should meet at Lakeland Avenue along the southern shoreline of the lake. Please wear appropriate clothing. A limited number of work gloves and tools will be provided; please bring your own if possible. No prior experience is necessary - we will have a brief training session at the start of the day and as new volunteers arrive.
