Ex-Bristol Twp. Police Officer Charged With Child Porn Possession

Jayne served as a Bristol Township police officer from 1989 until 2000, and later did security in the school district, authorities said.

BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, PA — A former Bristol Township police officer — who served on the force for over a decade — has been charged with child pornography possession.

David Jayne, 63, was charged on Friday with possession of child pornography, the dissemination of child pornography, and the criminal use of a communication facility.

Jayne served as a township police officer from 1989 until 2000.

He was then employed as school security officer with the Bristol Township School District and has since retired from employment with the school district.

Police said there's no information at this time to believe that there are victims from the township and the school system.

Lt. Patrick Kitchenman said The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children alerted law enforcement through a Cybertip about possible child sexual assault material from a location in the township.

A search warrant was served on Friday at Jayne's home on Granite Road in the township's Levittown section.

Jayne was preliminarily arraigned with bail set at $50,000 with 10 percent.
