Fallen Police Hero Given Tribute In Bristol Township
In honor of National Police Week, Bristol Township Police paid respects to a police officer killed in the line of duty in 1972.

BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, PA —The Bristol Township Police Department concluded National Police Week Monday with a salute and a tribute to its fallen brethren.
The department remembered Detective Sergeant George Francis Stuckey, who died on March 29, 1972.
Stuckey tragically lost his life in the line of duty when he was shot during a traffic stop on a vehicle that matched the description of one used in a bank robbery a few minutes before, the police department said.

Stuckey performed this traffic stop on Bath Road, just a few hundred feet in front of the police station.
In his honor, we place a wreath at his memorial site which can be seen at the front of the township building," the police department said.

"Today, many departments both locally and nationally, will honor those they've lost. It is a somber day for law enforcement, and it is also a day of gratitude and respect for those we lost. As always, we appreciate your support and remain dedicated to serving you, our community," the department said.
