Falls Chemical Company Announces Expansion, 25 New Jobs

FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA — A chemical company with a plant in Falls Township announced a major expansion on Thursday.

Ohio-based Americhem held a groundbreaking for its plant expansion in Fall's Morrisville section. The 60,000 square foot expansion will include a 20,000-square-foot "clean compounding room that will house up to six new compounding lines.

The company says the new facility will give Americhem "unique capabilities to produce compounds that meet the most stringent medical device requirements."

Company officials said Thursday that the expansion would double the size of its existing plant in Falls and that the it plans to add 25 new jobs to the 70 employees it already has locally.

A new customer center also is included in the expansion.

"We continue to see significant opportunities to grow our existing segments and diversify into new segments," said Jim Figaniak, vice president and general manager of Americhem Engineered Compounds.

Construction on the expansion is expected to be finished by next fall.

Americhem's plant in Falls manufactures composites for customers in the medical, industrial, business machine, electrical, IT and consumer products fields.
