Falls Township Launches Business Directory

With a goal of helping to easily connect its residents with the local business community, Falls Township recently launched a business directory on its Website.

The online directory will be sorted within 45 categories, including accounting, general contractor, daycare, grocery, salon, services and more and will provide the business hours of operation, address and contact information. The various headings make it simpler for residents to find the businesses of most interest to them.

The directory is another way the Falls Township Board of Supervisors supports township businesses.

“Falls Township is lucky to have many long-standing businesses here, as well as newer arrivals,” Supervisors Chairman Bob Harvie said. “The Board decided to add a business directory as a way for our residents, especially those new to our community, to search for and quickly find the local businesses that best meet their needs.”

The directory follows the township’s successful “Live Here, Spend Here” initiative, which was launched in 2015. Live Here, Spend Here was the brainchild of Supervisors Vice Chairman Jeffry Dence, who got the idea for the program while working in Burlington, N.J. Burlington has a similar business promotion effort in place and promotes it with a logo and stickers in local merchants’ windows.

Through Live Here, Spend Here - a local “Shop Small” undertaking – Falls Township features a local business on its Website and social media channels, encouraging residents to shop where they live.

Patronizing local business helps the Falls Township community thrive. If each of the township’s 13,000 households spent $20 a week that would otherwise be spent elsewhere, more than $13 million would be spent within Falls, in turn supporting the local economy.
