Falls Twp Mom Kicked Daughter To Death: Police
Kayla Marie Moore has been arrested and charged with criminal homicide in connection with the death of her 2-year-old daughter.

A Bucks County mother is accused of kicking her 2-year-old daughter to death, authorities announced Wednesday.
Kayla Marie Moore, 23, of Falls Township has been arrested and charged with criminal homicide in connection with the death of Athena Wolfe, Bucks County District Attorney David W. Heckler said.
Moore's daughter died in a Philadelphia Hospital Monday. She later admitted to police detectives that she kicked her several times in the head and the torso Sunday before calling an ambulance, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

An autopsy showed Athena died of blunt force trauma and the manor of death was ruled homicide, police said.
According to the affidavit, Falls Township police officers responded to Moore's Sweetbriar Road residence on Sunday afternoon after she reported her daughter was in cardiac arrest.

The toddler was transported by ambulance to Aria Hospital, where medical personnel observed "extensive" bruising on the child's face and body.
The child, who was unresponsive upon arriving at the Bucks County hospital, appeared "very malnourished," the affidavit said. She was then airlifted to CHOP, where she died the next day.
Officials say, based on Athena's injuries, she was a "terribly battered and injured" child.
Moore is in Bucks County prison and has been denied bail. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 3.
