FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA —A township woman faces criminal charges in connection with the overdose death of her roommate and subsequent financial exploitation, authorities said.

Christina Gallo, 38, was charged on Monday with drug delivery resulting in death, involuntary manslaughter, identity theft, and other offenses, the Bucks County District Attorney's Office said.

Mary Wells, 34, was found unresponsive on Jan. 2, 2025, at the residence she shared with Gallo in the Pennwood Crossing trailer park, authorities said.

Wells was pronounced dead at Jefferson-Bucks Hospital. An autopsy and toxicology report identified fentanyl, xylazine, methamphetamine, methadone, and para-fluorofentanyl as the cause of death.

Investigators determined that Gallo allegedly supplied the drugs that led to Wells' death. Text messages from Dec. 22, 2024, showed both women discussing the purchase of a specific brand of fentanyl. Gallo reportedly delivered the final dose of this fentanyl to Wells on Jan. 1, about 16 hours before her death.

Investigators also uncovered a pattern of financial exploitation.

Police found that Gallo allegedly used Wells’ EBT and debit cards for fraudulent purchases and withdrawals after her death. The victim’s family informed investigators that these stolen funds could have been used for a proper funeral.

"The details of this case are as heartbreaking as they are infuriating," Bucks County District Attorney Joe Khan said. "Not only did the defendant deliver the very poison that ended the victim’s life, but she then chose to further victimize the family by systematically draining the victim’s financial accounts in the days following her death."

Gallo was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge John T. Galloway and remanded to Bucks County Correctional Facility under $250,000 bail. A co-defendant, John "Twitch" Lindsay, 44, of Bensalem, was also charged with drug delivery offenses.
