"I love the mythology (she writes in her books) and she writes great, smart female characters," Hardy said.

Hardy was just recently acquainted with Kenyon's Dark Hunter series. In just under one year, Hardy said she read almost every novel in the 20-some book series.

To some of the attendees, the devotion to Kenyon's work goes beyond the pages of her books. Many fans went up to Kenyon branding tattoos of a symbol from her series: two overlapping bows and arrows.

According to the store's assistant manager Jeremy Sodano, the event was the largest book-signing that Barnes & Noble location has ever held. The event was roughly 10 times larger than their usual book tour events, whose average attendance usually ranged between only 20 to 25 people.

"With the growing popularity of digital products on the market, It's definitely exciting to have so many people in the bookstore," Sodano said.
