Fatal Fire Response Touted By Bucks Co. Lawmaker

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — U.S. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick has offered comments following a fire that damaged six homes and killed a woman in Bristol Borough on Monday night.

The fire was one of two separate fires that claimed two lives in Bristol Borough and Bensalem over the past few days.

Mary Miller, 75, of Bristol Borough, was identified in the fire there on Monday night. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene of the fire on Monday night along the 300 block of Dorrance Street.

"Our community endured a devastating multi-alarm fire that tore through neighboring homes and left heartbreak in its wake," Fitzpatrick said. "One life was tragically lost, another individual was hospitalized, six homes sustained significant damage, and multiple families are now displaced — facing the unimaginable task of rebuilding after losing nearly everything."

Fitzpatrick said that First Responders arrived within minutes to heavy flames and downed, sparking power lines that made entry from the front impossible.

"In an extraordinarily dangerous and volatile scene, they did not hesitate —they advanced, adapting in real time with discipline, courage, and resolve to contain the blaze and protect lives," Fitzpatrick said.

At the height of the response, alongside the BBFA and Bristol Boro Police Department, nearly 100 firefighters and responders from across the region, including Tullytown, Bristol Township, and Bensalem.

"Their professionalism, bravery, and coordinated action prevented an already tragic situation from becoming even more catastrophic," Fitzpatrick said. "This is a day of great sorrow for Bristol Borough. Yet, as it always does, this community is rising —rallying together to support the families impacted and surrounding them with strength and compassion. As our neighbors begin the long road ahead, please join me in praying for the life we tragically lost, holding close all those affected, and honoring the first responders who, day after day, put service above self to safeguard the people they serve. May God bless them all."
