Grant Writing Nets Nearly $1 Million For Falls Township

FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA —After netting $937,110 in grants for the township over the past few years, the grant writing company will remain.

Two years ago, Falls Township began using Millennium Strategies, LLC, after neighboring Middletown Township retained the company’s services to generate more than $10 million in grant funding over a 10-year span.

Falls Township Supervisors decided at its recent meeting to continue its annual contract with the company.

In 2021, Millennium helped the township obtain a $756,881 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation to fund pedestrian safety improvements at various intersections.

An additional $55,029 was secured from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development —Greenways, Trails, and Recreation Program for upgrades to the township’s roller hockey rink.

The upgraded rink opened last summer.

“We’ve gotten almost $1 million in grant money,” Supervisors Chairman Jeff Dence said.

As part of the contracted monthly cost of $1,500 per month, Millennium will create a strategic plan, research available opportunities, and provide monthly reporting. Project-based grant writing services would be provided at an hourly rate.

In addition to Falls and Middletown, Millennium Strategies provides grant writing services to more than 90 municipalities, counties, school districts, and nonprofits in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York.

Since its inception in 2005, the company has secured more than $600 million in both governmental and non-governmental grants for its clients.

Millennium has secured funding for a wide range of projects, including arts and culture, economic
development, open space preservation, parks and recreation, environmental planning and restoration, public safety, sustainable energy, historic preservation, as well as transportation-related projects.
