BUCKS COUNTY, P.A. – June 8, 2015 – Griff Paper and Film was recognized by the Bucks County Economic Development Corporation (BCEDC) on April 29th for its role in creating and retaining jobs in the Bucks County area. This dinner and ceremony was held on behalf of growing companies within Bucks County that have applied for and received loans to expand local businesses.
Griff Paper and Film used its loan to acquire 9 Headley Place, its third location in Bucks County, allowing the company to expand its custom converting operations. This created 12 new jobs, with the expectation of adding more within the year.

“With the help of BCEDC, we will continue to look for more opportunities for growth in our own Bucks County Community,” said Alex Phinn, President of Griff Paper and Film.
Companies that received loans from the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority and the Small Business First Fund will receive plaques commemorating their contributions to Bucks County’s economy. This ceremony includes a reorganizational meeting, where members will vote on the General Board of Directors and Executive Board of Directors for the BCEDC.

This annual event began in 1995 when Bob Cormack, Executive Director of the BCEDC, turned the voting meeting into an awards ceremony. It was done as a way to promote the BCEDC and banking institutions, while thanking the individual companies that worked to obtain financing through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the BCEDC.
“I wanted to create a plaque that I felt was outstanding enough that [companies] would want to hang it on the wall,” said Cormack. “We recognize them for the retention and creation of new jobs.”
Other companies that have received this honor include Creative Display Solutions, A&L Foods, Bioplast Manufacturing and IMET Corporation. Last year’s event had over 190 attendees.
Bob Phinn, Vice President of Finance at Griff Paper and Film, received plaque at the Spring Mill Manor in Ivyland, Pennsylvania.
