Jerry Devine keeps his teaching job but remains suspended as varsity basketball coach.

Jerry Devine, the Neshaminy High School basketball coach who made headlines last week after head butting a referee during a game, will keep his teaching job, the district announced Tuesday.

According to school district spokesman Chris Stanley, Devine will return to his teaching position at the high school effective immediately.

Devine had been on administrative leave since an incident Jan. 5 in which he knocked the referee to the ground.
