Healthcare Employers Seek Workers to Fill Growing Need

At a time when jobs are not as plentiful as they once were, approximately 1.3 million additional jobs within the home healthcare field will be added through 2020, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Home health positions will see a 69 percent growth through that time period, while personal care aide positions are expected to see a 70 percent growth.

The spiraling growth in the healthcare – particularly the home healthcare field – is in response to the growing number of senior citizens who continue living at home. AARP says 90 percent of seniors want to stay in their own homes as they age. Even when daily assistance or ongoing healthcare is needed, 82 percent would prefer to stay in their own homes.

Bucks County-based RecruitmentQueen is working to help healthcare providers fill a growing number of in-demand positions during a career fair in Bensalem Township.

Dozens of healthcare employers are expected to exhibit at the career fair, which will be held on April 19 at the Crowne Plaza.

“As the home healthcare field continues to grow, it’s critical that these positions are filled,” RecruitmentQueen President and CEO Jennifer Schultz said.

During the career fair, job seekers will be able to network with local employers and recruiters and learn more about various healthcare-related openings, including Certified Nurses’ Aides, Registered Nurses, Caregivers, Home Health Aides, Licensed Practical Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Mental Health Professionals, Radiologists, Physical Therapists and more.

So far Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services, PSA Healthcare, Personal & Memory Care at the Park and Chandler Hall, Bethanna, Always Best Care Senior Services, The Protocall Group, Pennswood Village and Helpsource Home Care have registered for the career fair. Many more employers – with numerous job openings - are expected to attend.
