Hotel, Car Wash Closer To Approval At Old Toys 'R' Us Site
Middletown's zoning board this week agreed to four variances requested by developers of the property off of Lincoln Highway.

LANGHORNE, PA — A hotel and car wash got one step closer to approval on the former site of Toys 'R' Us in Langhorne this week.
On Wednesday, Middletown Township's zoning hearing board approved four variances requested by developers who want to build a Tru by Hilton hotel and a car wash on the site, which has been vacant since Toys 'R' Us shut down earlier this year.
The Intelligencer reports that the Tru by Hilton would be between 94-98 rooms and have an indoor pool. It would be in a newly constructed building and the car wash would be in the 42,500-square-foot building that housed Toys 'R' Us until June.

Earlier this year, the Toys 'R' Us at 2345 E. Lincoln Hwy. was one of many stores shuttered as the company went through a wave of closures and was liquidated.
The Hilton building would be four stories. Township building and zoning director Pat Duffy said the company will submit plans for it that will go through Middletown's land-development process, the Intelligencer reports.

The variance requests, from 2345 Lincoln ABC LLC, out of Hamilton, N.J., asked for permission to put a hotel in what is otherwise an office-campus district, for lenience in the township's 100-foot setback requirement and other allowances.
The hotel would join several others in the area and likely be used heavily by visitors to nearby Sesame Place.
