Job Seekers can Ring in the New Year with a New Career

Bucks County digital job board RecruitmentQueen.com, is helping Bucks County job seekers answer the ever-important New Year’s resolution – to find a new job.

Free Rush Bus service

New for this year, TMA Bucks, in partnership with the Bucks County Transport, will offer free roundtrip Rush Bus shuttle service from the Walmart on Jacksonville Road in Warminster, as well as from the Warminster Train Station to the career fair, which is being held at Spring Mill Manor.

TMA Bucks Executive Director Bill Brady said his organization regularly exhibits at RecruitmentQueen’s career fairs to provide information to job seekers about options for getting to the various places of employment.

Brady said offering a connecting place for commuters to pick up mass transit to the job fair was a logical step and enables Schultz to “target that mass transit audience and encourage them to attend the job fair.”

The organization serves more than 100 riders per day via its transit lines in Warminster and Bristol. The service to and from the career fair provides “increased frequency” during the day. Most service is usually during rush hour, according to Brady.

Informative breakout sessions

Job seekers will gain insight from several breakout sessions during the career fair.

· Sonia Smith, of the Small Business Administration, will talk about how to start your own business.

· Jennifer Schultz, of RecruitmentQueen, will discuss how to brand yourself on LinkedIn.

· A session on networking to find a job is also planned.

For job seekers, the career fair is a networking event which enables them to connect with recruiters and HR professionals to help find a job.

More than a dozen employers have reserved spots, including Mutual of Omaha, Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services, Pennswood Village, PSA Healthcare, The Protocall Group, At Home Certified Senior Healthcare, Bayada Home Health Care, Quality Care Options, Robert Half, All American Hospice and Home Care, Fox Subacute Center, GoodWest Industries, Personal & Memory Care At The Park and Giles & Ransome. Many more employers are expected to exhibit as well.

Tips for career fair success

Schultz recommends that job seekers:

· Update their resumes and bring along plenty of copies

· Practice their 30-second introduction (since job seekers will meet and speak directly with hiring managers)

· Dress professionally – no flip flops, jeans, T-shirts, etc.

· Research employers of interest beforehand
