Kitten Rescued From Storm Drain In Bristol Twp.
Fire crews and the Bucks County SPCA helped save a trapped kitten along Oxford Valley Road on Wednesday afternoon.

BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, PA —The sound came from a storm drain.
Trapped inside the drain was a kitten meowing along Oxford Valley Road on Wednesday afternoon.
Authorities were called for assistance and the Bristol Township Police Department, Levittown Fire Company No. 2, and the Bucks County SPCA sprang into action.

"We are happy to say that ACO O’Brien is no scaredy cat when it comes to finding a way to help an animal in need," the police department said in a Facebook post. A small kitten was the subject of a successful rescue operation led by Levittown Fire Company No. 2 firefighters, the Bucks County SPCA and our very own ACO. Many thanks to all who responded, and a special shout out to ACO O’Brien for his purrrrfectly executed rescue efforts."
The Bucks SPCA said that with spring and summer, people should keep an "eye and ear out" for baby animals who look or sound injured or in distress.

Cindy Kelly, director of communications for the Bucks County SPCA, said that Nikki Thompson, BCSCPA's Chief Humane Society Police Officer, assisted with the rescue.
The kitten is being kept by someone who helped rescue it, Kelly said.
"The effort is another great example of the community and our local agencies working together to save a life," Kelly said. "It's nice to have a feel-good story with a happy ending once in a while."
