BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, PA — Motorists on Interstate 95 and Interstate 295 will have to deal with evening and overnight lane closures in Bucks County next week as PennDOT crews work to repair and resurface the roads.
In all, 13 miles of the highways will be resurfaced in and around Bensalem, Bristol, Middletown and Lower Makefield — from Academy Road to the Rt. 413 (Bristol) interchange.

- Monday Sept. 24 to Thursday, Sept. 27: From 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., two lanes will be closed on westbound I-295 and southbound I-95 between the Rt. 413 (Bristol) and Academy Road interchanges.
- Single lanes will be closed on those same dates and times on northbound and southbound I-95 between Academy Road and the Pennsylvania Turnpike interchanges
Anyone who can't avoid the area during those times is advised to allow extra time for travel because "significant backups and delays will occur," according to PennDOT. The schedule is weather-dependent.
In addition to resurfacing, crews also will be installing new guard rails, repairing or replacing damaged traffic signs, doing minor bridge repairs and installing rumble strips and delineators along the I-95 and I-295 corridors in Bucks County.

The lane closures on I-95 and I-295 will come after weekend closures of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Bucks County. The Turnpike will be closed between the Bensalem exit (351) and the Delaware Valley exit (358) from 12:01 to 6 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, the turnpike commission announced. The closure will be needed to put up new signs and open newly built flyovers at the soon-to-open interchange.
