Lanes To Close On I-95, I-295 In Bucks Co. Next Week

The lane closures will be in both directions at various locations between the Academy Road and Rt. 332 interchanges.

LEVITTOWN, PA — Lanes on Interstate 95 and Interstate 296 in Bucks County will be closed down next week as part of a project to repair and resurface the highways.

The lane closures will be in both directions at various locations between the Academy Road and Rt. 332 interchanges. They'll run from Monday, Feb. 11, through Friday, Feb. 15, from 7 p.m.-5 a.m.

According to PennDOT, crews will be doing subbase installation as part of a project to fix up 13 miles of the interstates in Bensalem, Bristol, Middletown and Lower Makefield townships.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling on I-95 and I-295 in the work areas because backups and delays are expected to occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT is milling, overlaying and rehabilitating existing pavement, performing base repairs, installing new guide rail, repairing or replacing damaged traffic signs, performing minor bridge deck repairs and installing rumble strips and delineators along the I-95 and I-295 corridor in Bucks County.

James J. Anderson Construction Company, Inc. of Philadelphia is the general contractor on the $29.8 million project, which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds.
