Lanes Closing, Work Continues On I-95, I-295

The work is part of a project to repair and resurface 13 miles of the interstates in Bensalem, Bristol, Middletown and Lower Makefield.

LEVITTOWN, PA — Lanes on I-95 and I-295 will be closed in the evenings and overnight next week as work continues on the highways.

The single-lane closures will be between the Academy Road and U.S. 1 interchanges on Monday, Jan. 28 through Friday, Feb. 1. They will be closed from 7 p.m.-5 a.m. for sub-base installation.

The work is part of a project to repair and resurface 13 miles of the interstates in Bensalem, Bristol, Middletown and Lower Makefield townships, according to PennDOT.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling on I-95 and I-295 in the work areas because backups and delays are expected to occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT is milling, overlaying and rehabilitating existing pavement, performing base repairs, installing new guide rail, repairing or replacing damaged traffic signs, performing minor bridge deck repairs and installing rumble strips and delineators along the I-95 and I-295 corridor in Bucks County.

James J. Anderson Construction Company, Inc. of Philadelphia is the general contractor on the $29,633,134 project, which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds.
