Longtime Bristol Township Resident Passes Away at 101
Stanley J. "Stash" Youknis was a member of St. Frances Cabrini parish and a P.O.W. He died Friday at the age of 101.
Stanley J. "Stash" Youknis died on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Statesman Nursing Home. He was 101.
Born in Philadelphia, Stanley was a resident of Bristol Township for many years and was a member of St. Frances Cabrini parish. Stanley was a proud U.S. Army and Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War and was also a P.O.W.
Stanley worked as a tool and die maker with Chapman Brothers for 25 years. He also worked for the Budd Company and as a press operator with Paul Beckman for many years.

He loved his beer and also enjoyed polka music and Lawrence Welk. Stash will be remembered as a sweet man who loved to have a good time.
Loving companion of the late Norma Saunders, Stanley is survived by his loving niece and caretaker Patricia Herb; his nieces and nephews, Vincent and Rita Shimkus and Michael and Linda Shimkus; great nieces and nephews, Michael and Kristy Shimkus and Kenny Herb and great great nephews, Matthew Foster Shimkus and Bryce Gerald Herb. Stash will also be sadly missed by John and Mark McCaffrey and their families and his sweetheart of 20 years, Betty Rosemeyer.

He was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Anna (nee Youknis) Shimkus and William "Bill" Shimkus. Family and friends are invited to call from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at Saint Frances Cabrini Church, 325 South Oxford Valley Road, Fairless Hills, PA 19030, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am. Rite of Committal will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to St. Frances Cabrini Church or the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
