BRISTOL, PA — A Bristol man convicted of assaulting his girlfriend multiple times has been sentenced to state prison, the Bucks County District Attorney's Office said.

Common Pleas Judge Charissa J. Liller sentenced Ali Harrison-El, 53, to serve between three and six years in state prison for the assaults, which took place on New Year's Eve 2022 and in Feb. 2023. Liller found him guilty of two counts each of simple assault and harassment and one count of theft by unlawful taking, per the DA's office.

In the first assault, officials said, Harrison-El punched the victim several times and hit her in the stomach with a curtain rod at a home on Beaver Dam Road. The victim called police from the Wawa at 5900 Bristol Pike because Harrison-El took her phone, authorities said.

The victim said that she and Harrison-El had argued, and that he began throwing items at her as she called police. He also slapped and shoved her, according to officials.

Officials said Harrison-El "repeatedly" violated the conditions of his bail which required him to have no contact with the victim, even contacting her while he was incarcerated.

"During sentencing, Liller said Harrison-El, who has a significant criminal history, is a risk to public safety and has never accepted responsibility for his actions," DA Jennifer Schorn's office said.

Court records show that Harrison-El also goes by Ali Marrison, Ali Watie, Mike Mitchell, and other names. He also has an active case in Bucks County for identity theft and false identification to a law enforcement charges.

Harrison-El has a criminal history in Bucks County dating back to at least 1993, according to court records. Records show that he has been sentenced to time behind bars for crimes including making terroristic threats, criminal trespass, simple assault, burglary, theft by receiving stolen property, and driving while intoxicated.
