More Red Light Cameras Installed In Bristol Twp.

BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, PA — Red-light cameras are now active at two more township intersections.

Since mid-December, the Bristol Township Police Department activated red-light safety cameras at two intersections to reduce accidents and bolster road safety.

Police said that for the first 30 days, there will be no fines, just warning letters, for drivers who run red lights. After the 30-day warning period, police will issue fines.

Police said the grace time is to give drivers time to adjust and form safer driving habits.

The new red-light cameras were installed at Veterans Highway at Western Avenue and Veterans Highway at Wharton Road/Old Rodgers Road.

Police said the red-light cameras are designed to help prevent serious crashes, encourage drivers to stop on red, and make intersections safer for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists.

In August 2025, the township launched a new red-light camera program, joining numerous communities seeking to bolster safety in the Philadelphia region.

Red-light safety cameras were activated on Bristol Pike at Green Lane and also at Bristol Pike at Edgely Road.

Red-light camera programs have launched in Warrington and Bensalem townships, and in Abington Township in Montgomery County.
