TULLYTOWN, PA — A 42-year-old Tullytown woman is charged with criminal homicide, after authorities allege she fatally poisoned her toddler son with drugs last month. The Bucks County District Attorney announced the charges during a Tuesday afternoon press conference.
Jennifer Clarey, 42, has been charged with criminal homicide in connection with the death of her son, Mazikeen Curtis. He was found dead in a bed at the family's home around 10:35 p.m. on Aug. 25 after police officers performed a well-being check, according to information from the Bucks County District Attorney's office.
When officers arrived to the home on Lovett Avenue, they found him and his mother in a bloodied bed. The boy had no obvious signs of trauma, an affidavit of probable cause stated, however Clarey had lacerations to her wrists that appeared to be self-inflicted.

An autopsy revealed the boy's death was caused by an overdose of hydrocodone. An empty prescription bottle of that medication was found at Clarey's residence. It had been prescribed to her and was filled a week before the child's death, the District Attorney said. Authorities allege Clarey put the drugs in the boy's sippy cup, which tested positive for hydrocodone.
Clarey was arraigned Tuesday and is being held at Bucks County prison. She was denied bail.
