National Night Out Festivities Planned In Levittown

Five towns will hold activities for residents to bond with law enforcement in the annual event Tuesday night.

LEVITTOWN, PA —Five communities have activities scheduled for National Night Out Tuesday as the annual event helps to build the bond between residents and their law enforcement.

While Penndel is sitting the event out this year, festivities are scheduled in Bristol and Tullytown boroughs and Falls, Bristol, and Middletown townships on Tuesday.

National Night Out is designed to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while spotlighting the community. It also provides an opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

Here are the scheduled events:

Bristol Borough

The event will be held from 6-8 p.m. at Snyder-Girotti Elementary School.

Bristol Township

Scheduled from 5-8 p.m. at Municipal Park on 2501 Bath Rd., the National Night Out event will feature emergency responders, a live DJ, a K-9 demonstration, a dunk tank, vendors, an obstacle course, and food trucks.

Falls Township

The event at Community Park on Mill Creek Road takes place from 6-9 p.m. Attendees can meet their police and firefighters and also see a K-9 demonstration. There will also be arts and games, and food.

Middletown Township

The National Night Out event at the Municipal Complex on Municipal Way takes place from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Festivities include children’s activities, emergency responders, food, exhibits, and games.

Tullytown

Meet police and firefighters at Borough Park on 500 Main St. for the borough's National Night Out celebration. Festivities begin at 5 p.m. The event includes a dunk tank, free snacks, food trucks, face painting, sand art, fire truck rides, a medical helicopter display, inflatable games, Chase from Paw Patrol, and raffle baskets.

Penndel Borough said it would not participate in this year’s National Night Out festivities. Borough officials posted on Facebook that Penndel will be involved in future National Night Outs.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live, according to the organization's website.

National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
Millions of neighbors take part in National Night Out across thousands of communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August.

Neighborhoods host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts, and various other community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, and exhibits, among other festivities.
Some towns hold their events on different days. Some states, like Texas, celebrate on the first Tuesday in October.
