New Police Chief Named In Tullytown

TULLYTOWN, PA —The borough has a new police chief and also recently recognized three members of Station 33 for a life-saving effort in March.

Retired Trenton, N.J., Police Lt. Michael Martin was recently sworn in as Tullytown Borough Police Chief at the council's recent meeting.

Meanwhile, U.S. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick recently recognized retiring Police Chief Dan Doyle.

Doyle first joined the Croydon Fire Companys as a junior firefighter at age 16.

He then joined the Tullytown Borough Police Department upon graduation from the police academy, Fitzpatrick said.

Doyle rose through the ranks of the police department, becoming a sergeant, police chief, and emergency manager.

As police chief, Doyle's community policing approach was embraced by the citizens, and business owners as he hosted events such as Coffee with a Cop, Pizza with the Police, Camping with the Cops, and the food basket program, Fitzpatrick said.

Although Chief Doyle retired from the police department last year, Fitzpatrick said he had the opportunity recently to celebrate his years of service and retirement.

"Thank you for your years of service, Chief! We wish you all the best in your well-deserved retirement," Fitzpatrick said.

In other borough business:

Three members of Station 33 were honored for assisting in saving a life in March by the Tullytown Borough Police and the council and mayor at the recent council meeting. Their actions along with the police officers and EMS from the Levittown Fairless Hills Rescue Squad saved the life of a man who was in attendance. Congratulations went out to Captain/EMT Rob Greiner, Firefighter Frank Baker Jr., and Firefighter/EMT James Collins.
