Outback Steakhouse Approved In Falls Township

Township supervisors gave the go-ahead for the restaurant, which will be on the site of the former Old Country Buffet.

FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA — Hearty steaks and bloomin' onions are on their way to the Levittown area. The Falls Township Board of Supervisors on Tuesday unanimously voted to approve land-development approval for a group bringing an Outback Steakhouse to town.

The vote will allow Oxford Valley Road Associates to demolish the former Old Country Buffet at 650 Commerce Blvd. and build a 6,620-square-foot, 240-seat Outback restaurant in its place.

Outback representatives say building plans are under way and construction will start by spring 2019. Demolition of the current building and construction of the new one is expected to take about five months.

  • Approved construction of a Patient First medical center at the intersection of Oxford Valley Road and Lincoln Highway. It's on the former site of a McDonald's and gas station. Supervisors discussed the possibility of added traffic at an already busy intersection, but said the medical center likely will generate much less than the restaurant and gas station did. The urgent-care center will see about 60 patients a day, a representative said.
  • Entered an agreement with Capital Health to provide ambulance services for part of the township. They'll replace Morrisville Ambulance Squad, which covers about 12 percent of Falls Township.
  • Invited residents to attend an Oct. 1 meeting to discuss state-mandated changes to the township's sewer management plan.
