Corp. James Szamboti conducted a preliminary investigation in which the school bus driven by a 63-year-old Fairless Hills man was traveling northbound on Makefield Road when a silver Acura SUV, driven southbound by a 77-year-old Newtown Township man drifted into the northbound lane.
Police said the school bus driver attempted to avoid a collision but was unable to as the SUV struck the driver's side of the bus, causing disabling damage to both vehicles.
