In mid-May, Rausch was placed on administrative leave. A reason was not provided by the district.

Jennifer Neill, the district's spokeswoman, said then that Rausch was not removed from the school grounds nor escorted from the building.

Rausch was hired by the school district in 2020.

She had served as assistant director of student services in the Abington School District in Montgomery County.

Rausch also has worked for the Bucks County Intermediate Unit and was a special education teacher and a behavior specialist in Pennsbury from 2000 to 2011.

"We are committed to finding the best candidate possible to lead our Special Education program and Dr. Lambert will be with us until this process is complete. I will provide updates once the search process begins," Smith said.
