Girl, 7, Killed In Shooting At Pennsbury Football Game

Shots rang out just after 9 p.m. Friday at the end of the game between Academy Park and Pennsbury high schools, according to reports.

SHARON HILL, PA — A young girl is dead after shots rang out at a Friday night football game between Academy Park and Pennsbury high schools, according to multiple reports.

The 7-year-old girl was shot near the main gate of the Knights Park football field. The game had just ended when shots were fired in a drive-by shooting near the concession stand, the Courier Times reported, adding three other juveniles were also hurt.

No players from either football team were injured, according to the Courier Times.

The 7-year-old girl was taken to the hospital, where she died from an apparent gunshot wound to the neck, 6ABC reported.

A witness told 6ABC she was standing next to the girl when she was shot.

"When she got shot, she went down, grabbed my leg as she was going down," witness Deanna Bankston told the television station. "I kneeled down but then her mom kneeled down next to her, and then I had to get up and go look for my children."

Three people are in custody following the shooting, 6ABC reported. Police also seized a number of weapons.
