Rite Aid's Commerce Circle location is closing as the company files for bankruptcy. A second location in Bristol Borough will remain open.

BRISTOL BOROUGH, PA —The Rite Aid on Commerce Circle will close its doors for good on Saturday amid reports that the Philadelphia-based pharmacy chain is filing for bankruptcy.

The pharmaceutical retailer has 464 stores in Pennsylvania, including Bucks County locations in Warminster, Doylestown, Fairless Hills, Morrisville, Levittown, Trevose, Warrington, Newtown, and Langhorne.

The pharmacy chain is planning to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy to address more than 1,000 state and federal lawsuits it faces for allegedly contributing to the opioid epidemic, according to the Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg.

Rite Aid has not publicly addressed the bankruptcy filing reports, and sources with knowledge of the matter told Bloomberg the company is still finalizing its plans.
