Road Resurfacing, ADA Curb Installation Begins In Middletown Twp.

MIDDLETOWN TWP., PA —ADA curb ramp installation and road resurfacing begins in the township starting Monday and will last for at least two weeks, PennDOT has announced.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said that ADA curb ramp installation is scheduled at the Route 513 (Hulmeville Avenue) and Trenton Road Intersection in Hulmeville as part of a project to install ADA curb ramps at over 140 intersections in Bucks and Montgomery counties.

  • Monday, April 10, through Friday, April 21, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Trenton Road will be closed between Route 513 (Hulmeville Avenue) and Main Street. Motorists are advised to use Hulmeville Avenue and Main Street during the closure.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups may occur. Local access will be maintained up to the work zone. The schedule is weather dependent.

Meanwhile, road resurfacing will also take place starting Monday in Middletown Township. PennDOT said the work is expected to last until April 28.

The work schedules and locations are:

  • Monday, April 10, through Friday, April 28, weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Old Lincoln Highway between Route 213 (Maple Avenue) and the southbound Route 1 ramp in Middletown Township for milling and paving.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under these resurfacing projects, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surfaces and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.
