Route 1 Bridge Inspection Planned Monday

PennDOT said motorists should expect lane closures Monday morning and afternoon in Middletown Township.

MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA —A bridge inspection is planned Monday on Route 1 and motorists should expect lane closures during the review, PennDOT said.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said that the bridge inspection is for both lanes Monday morning and afternoon.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

  • Monday, Oct. 16, from 9 a.m. to Noon, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound U.S. 1 approaching the Business U.S. 1 Interchange.
  • Monday, Oct. 16, from Noon to 3 p.m., a right lane closure is scheduled on southbound U.S. 1 approaching the Business U.S. 1 Interchange.

Drivers should allow extra time when traveling through the work area because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather-dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT’s program to ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
